Why choose adoption?

If you cannot provide the care your child needs at this time in your life, adoption is a courageous act of love. We would love to connect you with a professional, licensed counselor who can help you work through the many emotions you will likely experience as you make this decision.

How does the adoption process work?

The team at the Family Advocacy Law Firm will work closely with you to choose an adoptive family. We can help you identify what’s most important to you in a family, support you as you interview prospective families, and work with you to ensure that your needs are met. We will walk you through every step in the process, from family selection to post-placement care and counseling. We also have a support group for Expectant Mothers and Birth Mothers who have already placed their child with an adoptive family. We’d love to have you!

Can I be paid for placing my child for adoption?

No. Receiving money for agreeing to place your child for adoption is illegal. However, the adoptive family you choose can provide financial assistance for some necessary living expenses.

What if I change my mind?

You will not be coerced or forced to sign any documents that terminate your rights as your child’s parent. Even if you have chosen an adoptive family and worked with them throughout your pregnancy, you are under no legal obligation to place your child with them once the child is born. It is your right to parent your child.

Why should I work with Family Advocacy Law Firm?

Choosing adoption for your child will undoubtedly be the most difficult decision you’ll ever make. You don’t need to make this decision alone. At the Family Advocacy Law Firm, we are committed to loving you well through this process. Unlike many adoption professionals, each member of our team has been personally touched by adoption. We offer a unique approach to our service – it’s not about the bottom line. It’s about providing genuine care and compassion and equipping you with the information and confidence you need to make the best decision for your family.

Can I view waiting adoptive families?

Yes. Searching for the adoptive parents who match the vision you have can be overwhelming. Family Advocacy Law Firm’s waiting families create adoption profiles—complete with photos and information that can help you get to know more about each of these hopeful parents.
